I was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and attended schools in the Richardson Independent School District. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University, and received my master’s degree from San Diego State University in Health Care Administration. My family has been fortunate enough to live in wonderful places such as San Diego, Okinawa, Japan and now in Fort Worth. Family experience in such varied school districts around the world has given me valuable insight into what makes a school district successful and what will ultimately provide our students with the best tools to succeed after graduation.

As well as my current Trustee position on the KISD Board of Trustees, I also serve as Legislative Liaison in the Trinity Meadows Intermediate School PTA.
I was one of the founders, and served as the first Executive Director of the North Fort Worth Alliance.

Prior to moving overseas in 2002, I worked for Children’s Hospital in San Diego. For five years, I teamed with administrators, physicians, nurses, parents, and patients as a Clinical Outcomes Analyst. My responsibility was to improve the way we care for ill children. This experience allowed me to see the effects of policy on each and every child seen at the hospital. I believe that this experience has contributed to my success as an efficient and effective KISD Board Trustee.

My main goals for the district are outlined as follows:

• Continue concentration on District fiscal accountability, structure and vision
  
• Continue the push for additional math, science and technology funding.
  
• Work to establish more partnerships between KISD and community businesses.
  
• Continue dialogue between the District and the City of Fort Worth concerning infrastructure issues and hazardous route designations.
  
• Work to promote better communication between the Board, teachers, administration and residents of KISD.
  

I am married to Mike Hogg. He is an active duty Navy Chaplain and serves as the Command Chaplain at the Naval Air Station, JRB Fort Worth. Our daughter, Alexandra Phillips, is a junior at Central High. Erin, our middle child, is a sixth grader at Trinity Meadows Intermediate School, and our son Michael is in the Pre-K program at Independence Elementary.
